Christina & Brendan
Our Story
Providence College
Christina and Brendan met at Providence College, one week before freshman year in August 2019! Randomly placed in the same Urban Action group (shout out Group R), they had the opportunity to do service around the Providence community before the year got underway. They became fast friends and helped each other acclimate to this new chapter of life. Christina’s first memory of Brendan was sitting next to him in the Group R circle for icebreakers. Everyone shared their majors, except Brendan who was undeclared at the time. Christina could not believe anyone wouldn’t know what they were doing for the rest of their lives once they were in college (she knew she wanted to be in Finance since she was 16), but she leaned over and said “That's okay, we will figure it out!”.

Brendan and Christina were truly a comfort to each other for the first two semesters of Freshman year. They had so much fun getting lunch together and going to the same parties. Once the two got back from Christmas break, they both started to branch out and make new friends. Even though they saw each other less often, they always kept in touch and made sure to meet up at the same houses on Eaton Street. You could always spot Brendan around campus wearing his brightly colored shirts, and you could catch Christina in athleisure either at the Concannon Fitness Center or the library (two places Brendan rarely visited Freshman year).
Sophomore year both Christina and Brendan lived in Suites, one floor away from each other. They’d continue to balance time with new friends and old, study for tests together, and be there for the other to talk to. Christina helped Brendan settle on a major in Marketing. Brendan helped Christina pass her logic and theology classes, it was the only time you could ever catch Brendan sitting in the suites study areas!

Dating at PC
After almost two years of being close friends, Brendan and Christina started dating and became college sweethearts on April 20th, 2017! Their first date was at Andino’s on Federal Hill in Providence. After a short time, Brendan and Christina knew that they were in love. They fell in love at the exact same time and have “been on the same page” ever since. Even though it felt too early to say “I love you”, they couldn’t keep it inside. Brendan even said it before their first date!

Christina knew Brendan was special when one night early in their relationship she left for dinner at Ray with the girls and she came back to all of her laundry neatly folded on her bed. Brendan knew Christina was special when he found himself looking for things to give her as an excuse to say hi or the day after their first kiss, when he was so nervous he went up to Christina’s suite to apologize (and was relieved to find out he had not jeopardized their friendship).
The foundation of friendship and communication that Brendan and Christina created in the suites lounge Sophomore year started their romance on the right foot. As they transitioned from best friends to dating, multiple meetings were had to ensure that they were on the same page, that they were both comfortable, and that they both continued to balance time with friends. Although they look back and laugh at these meetings, it made Christina and Brendan’s relationship strong and easy.
Throughout the PC experience, the couple enjoyed many date nights on Federal Hill or Mt. Fuji, being each other’s plus one to every PC dance, and exploring the city’s breakfast sandwiches (when they would roll up comfortably after the rush at 3pm on the weekends looking for bacon, egg, and cheeses). It was also in Providence where they found their mutual love for craft beer. Brendan gifted Christina the Providence Brew Bus for her 22nd birthday (because he was finally 21) and that’s where their love for brewery tours took off! Since then, they have been to over 75+ breweries across New England!
Medium Distance
After PC graduation in 2019, both Brendan and Christina got jobs from their internships, which brought Brendan to Boston and kept Christina in Providence for two years post-grad. While navigating the medium-ish distance and building the foundation of their careers, Christina would take the commuter rail to Boston or Brendan would drive to Providence for the weekends to spend time together. They would also escape to Lake Winnipesaukee, or take trips around New England. Thankfully, that ended when Christina moved to Boston in June 2021, just a 10 minute walk away from Brendan's apartment.

The Proposal
One winter’s night in Rocco’s, Brendan and Christina’s favorite restaurant in the North End of Boston, Brendan asked Christina if she’d like to go on a trip in the spring. He said she could pick any place she wanted and HE would plan it. Christina, being the usual planner in the relationship, couldn’t help but realize what Brendan was up to. Christina and Brendan had been talking about getting married since 2017, and the time had finally come!! She picked the happy island of Aruba and Brendan planned the entire trip. On Tuesday, May 2nd, 2023 on Eagle Beach at a private sunset picnic, Brendan asked Christina to marry him! Of course she said yes and the two spent the evening taking lots of photos on the beach before calling friends and family to share the exciting news! They got to enjoy the entire week of vacation celebrating their engagement together going to dinners on the beach, riding boats during sunset, and going on a pirate cruise. Christina and Brendan came back from the trip and shortly moved in together to their apartment in the West End of Boston, right by TD Garden, where they still live today.

Taking Boston
Once Christina moved to Boston, they began to explore the city together! They started trying new restaurants, breweries, and speakeasies. They’ve taken cooking and cocktail classes and have fallen in love with everything the city has to offer, all while continuing to progress their careers. While in the full swing of adulting, they continued to make time to take trips with friends, family, and couple's getaways. And don’t forget Monday night boxing class together! Though the post grad years had their fair share of good times and hard times, Brendan and Christina’s love, friendship, and support for one another continued to grow and flourish.
